HavenATL is always looking for interns who are willing to give their time (un-paid) to gain experience in this specific type of organization. College credit will be given and it will look great on your resume.

HavenATL is currently looking for Summer and Fall Interns for Nonprofit Administration, Communications, Case Management and Clinical Social Work. Please contact us if you are interested.  We believe that our internship program is a place for emerging leaders to grow in their understanding of this issue and become part of the solution. 


Nonprofit Administration Intern

HavenATL is in need of an intern focusing on program development, program evaluation, and building our community partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting classes and program event planning.
  • Helping with office organization and administration.  
  • Create an internship project related to volunteer management, program development or program evaluation. (Past interns have created our website and social media, developed our volunteer manual and we are open to your own ideas.)
  • Attend staff meetings, community partnership meetings and other community events

Requirements  

  • Recommended 15-20 hours per week.
  • Human Services Nonprofit Management, or Business major preferred.  
  • Valid driver’s license, transportation, and pass a criminal background check. 
  • Passion for the mission and vision of HavenATL and The Salvation Army.  

Communications and Advocacy Intern

Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating social media. Updating content on website.
  • Creating flyers for events and program activities.
  • Developing and updating communication plan for HavenATL. 

Requirements

  • Recommended 10-15 hours per week
  • Skills in graphic design, research, time management, and have awareness of social media trends/competencies.
  • Intern needs to have a passion for the empowering women coming out of commercial sexual exploitation and a dedication to raising awareness about Haven ATL, and advocating for the anti-sex trafficking movement. 
  • Degree Required: Human Services, Marketing, or Communications. 

 
Case management Intern

HavenATL is in need of an intern who can work hands-on with the girls in our program. This intern needs specific training on all that embodies CSE and motivational Interviewing.  

Responsibilities

  •     Recommended 16 hours per week
  • Caseload of 8-10 clients for case management
  •  Facilitate client intake meetings
  • Assess and support client goals
  • Connect clients with service referrals and community resources, including health, legal advocacy, housing and vocational services
  • Co-Facilitate Support Groups and Life Skills Classes monthly with the Lead Case Manager
  • Maintain and update client notes in Pathways system

Requirements 

  • Currently enrolled in a MSW or BSW Social Work program with a Macro/Community Focus.
  • Valid driver’s license, transportation, and pass a criminal background check. 
  • Passion for the mission and vision of HavenATL and The Salvation Army.
  • Good communication skills and able to speak at engagements.

Clinical Social Work Intern

Responsibilities

  •   Recommended 24 hours per week
  •  Caseload of 5 clients for individual therapy
  •   Facilitate group therapy sessions (once a week, three times per month)
  •  Provide clients with trauma-informed therapy and empirically-proven clinical interventions 

Requirements

  • To be eligible for the Clinical Social Work internship, students must be enrolled in a MSW program with a clinical/micro focus.
  • Applicants must have a passion for the mission of Haven ATL. All interns must have a valid driver’s license, transportation and pass a background check.
